Dec 7 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week we will hike to Council Crest park.
Depart: 9:30 AM at the intersection of SW Spring and SW 18th. There are no restrooms at the beginning of the hike, and none until more than halfway through. There are restrooms at the bottom of the hill at Vista and Burnside.
Lunch will probably be at the Goose Hollow Tavern. If you need an address, 2440 SW Vista Ave, Portland, OR 97201 is a block from the start of the hike.

Dec 9-11 (Fri-Sat) Tyee Open

Come enjoy our wonderful Tyee lodge for an early season weekend. It will be a no-host opening. Meaning bring your own food to eat. Will have the lodge open by 7:30pm Fri night and close by noon on Sunday.

Dec 10 (Sat) Hamburger Hike – Class A

This fun, little hike follows the Gorge 400 Trail from Eagle Creek to Cascade Locks for lunch (bring your own or purchase something at the Bridgeside Restaurant (formerly the Char Burger). Return to cars by the same trail. Hope for sunshine. But prepare for something else. Vehicles will need to display a NW Forest Pass.
Hike: 5.2 miles w/ 700’ (cumulative) elevation gain Drive: 60 r/t miles
Depart: 10:00 AM from Lewis & Clark State Park (I-84, exit 18)

Provided: Coffee, Tea, Sparkling Water, Salad, Bread, Eating Utensils
Please Bring a Main Dish, Side Dish, or Dessert to serve 10

Dec 14 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week we begin our hike at 9:30 AM, leaving from Elephant’s Deli at 5221 SW Corbett at the intersection of SW Corbett and SW Boundary. Parking can be challenging—please park in the neighborhood surrounding the deli. Hike will be approximately 4.5 miles. We will have lunch at Elephant’s at the end of the hike.

Dec 21 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week's hike will begin at Friendly House at NW Thurman and 26th.

Dec 27-30 (Tue-Fri) 28-30 (Wed-Fri) Tyee Open - Host Only Note Change

Opening will be delayed until Wed 12/88 due to an illness.

Tyee will be open from Tuesday evening December 27 thru December 30 (and the New Years event). Please drop in to play in the snow or just relax. No meals are provided as mid-week participation is expected to be low.
Register with: Joel Reitz 503-806-0399 to make reservations for staying overnight on the 27, 28, or 29th.

Dec 28 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

Depending on the weather and trail conditions, the plan is to hike along the Willamette Greenway, then use neighborhood stairs to eventually reach George Himes Park along Terwilliger Blvd., then descend along the Iowa Street Trail back to the Johns Landing area and The Old Spaghetti Factory. Note that the starting point does not have available restrooms, but there are some in the nearby neighborhood and we should encounter some about 20 minutes into the hike.
Depart: 9:30 AM - The Old Spaghetti Factory parking lot, 0715 SW Bancroft St., Portland.

Dec 28 (Wed) Lost World of Bridal Veil Hike

Explore some interesting things in the woods arould Bridal Veil. Distance: Around 6-7 miles.

Dec 30 - Jan 1 (Fri-Sun) New Years Eve at Tyee!

Tyee will be open Dec 30 at 1:00 PM through January 1, 1:00 PM. Cook is Debbie Ralls and she is sure to have some specialties! This will be a lower-key event than last year, so please keep your tech toys to a minimum. Lots of games and a walk to the fireworks!
