Jan 4 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week's hike will begin 9:30 AM at Friendly House at NW Thurman and 26th.
If you have any concerns about the weather, please contact the leader.

Reminder: TCO hikes are generally cancelled if weather conditions cause area schools to be closed. Always check with the trip leader if weather conditions make safe travel questionable.

Jan 11 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
We will meet 9:30 AM at George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego in the lower parking lot.

Jan 13-16 (Fri-Mon) Cascade Prime Timers and Trails Club at Tyee Lodge

Three nights and four days at Tyee Lodge. Plenty of snowshoeing and X-country skiing right outside the lodge door. Bring your snowshoes and/or X-country skis. Overnight: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. January 13, 14, 15. Meals: Friday: Dinner, Saturday, and Sunday: Breakfast and Dinner, Monday: Breakfast. Bring you own lunches. Tyee will be closed at 3 PM January 16.

MEET: 10 AM Friday at Restroom on east side of Government Camp or 10:15 AM at Timberline Road Sno-park (Sno-Park permits required).

Your RSVP needs to include phone number, arrival, and departure time. Register early for a bottom bunk. If you cancel after Sunday January 10, you will be charged $10/day for food.

Jan 14 (Sat) Snowshoe – class A

Depart: Tyee Lodge at 10 am and snowshoe government camp area. Return to Tyee for hot drinks around the fire.

Jan 17 (Tue) Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge - Class A

The Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge contains a mosaic of seasonal wetlands, permanent wetlands, grasslands, upland forests, riparian corridors, oak woodlands, and cropland. Winter is the best time to view large numbers of ducks, geese, swans and other migratory birds that use the area as a resting place during the long cold months.
We plan to hike the 2-mile loop Oaks to Wetlands Trail, plus more if the group wants.

Jan 25 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week’s hike will begin at a playground roughly at 1542 NE 28th (between NE Halsey and NE Weidler on NE 28th, approach from NE Weidler). This is adjacent to the Fred Meyer’s at NE 30th and NE Weidler. You may park on the street or in the Fred Meyer parking lot. There are restrooms in the store.
This is Laura Foster's hike #4.
Meet: 9:15 for the 9:30 departure time.

Jan 27-29 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Open - Free Kids Weekend

Come join us Friday evening through Sunday for a fun kids weekend at Tyee. Bring your sleds. Kids are free. Adults pay regular price. Meals are bring your own food with Saturday night and Sunday AM being pot luck. There will be sledding, snow shoeing for adults, games for kids. Dorms will be CO-ED to keep family units together. Movies for kids in PM both nights. Timberline Road Sno-Park is shared with the Boy Scouts, so get there early. OR Snow park permit required.
