Reminder: TCO hikes are generally cancelled if weather conditions cause area schools to be closed. Always check with the trip leader if weather conditions make safe travel questionable.

Week-1

Feb 1 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week's hike will begin at Friendly House at NW Thurman and 26th. We will probably hike on the northwest pavement through the three Pearl District parks.

Feb 3-5 (Fri-Mon) Cascade Prime Timers and Trails Club at Tyee Lodge

Two nights and three days at Tyee Lodge. Plenty of snowshoeing and X-country skiing right outside the lodge door. Bring your snowshoes and/or X-country skis. Overnight: Friday & Saturday Feb 3 and 4. Meals: Friday: Dinner, Saturday: Breakfast and Dinner, Sunday: Breakfast. Bring you own lunches.

MEET: 10 AM Friday at Restroom on east side of Government Camp or 10:15 AM at Timberline Road Sno-park (Sno-Park permits required).

Your RSVP needs to include phone number, arrival, and departure time. Register early for a bottom bunk. If you cancel after Sunday, January 31, you will be charged $10/day for food.

Feb 4 (Sat) Snowshoe – class A

Depart: Tyee Lodge at 10 am and snowshoe government camp area. Return to Tyee for hot drinks around the fire.

Feb 4 (Sat) Wildwood Trailhead at Germantown Rd Hike – class A

A family friend hike. We will hike South on the Wildwood trail and return via Leif Erikson for a total of approximately 4-5 miles. The distance of the hike can be easily adjusted to make it a class B for those who would like an additional challenge. Always carry the 10 essentials with you and be prepared for inclement weather.
Meet: 8:45 AM at Wildwood Trailhead at Germantown Rd (leave promptly at 9 AM)

Feb 8 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
Please meet at Elephant’s Deli, 5221 SW Corbett Ave, 97239, be ready to depart at 9:30 AM. We will be walking up to OHSU and taking the tram down, approximately 5 miles.

Feb 10-12 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Nite in the White

Join us for our winter snow camping event. This is a perfect opportunity to try snow camping. You will pitch your tent in our snow-covered parking lot just feet from the door of the lodge. Should things go wrong, you can sneak back into the safety of the lodge. After a hot dinner in the lodge, we will share a campfire in the snow , roast marshmallows, sing and get ready for a fine night in your tent in the snow. On awakening a hot breakfast will await you in the lodge.

Week-3

Feb 13 (Mon) Board meeting - special location

The Mazamas Lodge basement has flooded and we will need to move our February 13 board meeting to another location.
The new location is:

Beaverton Lodge

Beaverton, OR 97005

There are ample parking spots, but please do not park in any covered spots as they are reserved.
The room we will be meeting in is on the 2nd floor. Turn left at the top of the stairs, the room is on your right just before the restrooms.

Feb 15 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.

Feb 18-20 (Sat-Mon) Tyee Open

Join us at Tyee for a wonderful 3 day weekend. Plenty of snow for a snow shoe hike to a small waterfalls led by Mike Haasken on Sunday at 10:00 AM a pproximately 4.5 miles. SOpening Saturday at noon and leaving Monday by 1:00 PM. Cook is Debbie Ralls.

Feb 22 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week's hike will begin at the Old Spaghetti Factory at 0715 SW Bancroft St Portland, OR 97239. Please park in the parking lot away from the restaurant between the white lines (the yellow lines are reserved parking). Please arrive ready to depart at 9:30 AM.

Feb 24-26 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Open

Tyee will open by 4 PM Friday and remain open until 2 PM Sunday. Breakfast Sat/Sunday and Dinner Saturday provided. Gluten free options will be available.

Feb 25-26 (Sat-Sun) Nesika Open - Host only, Hike in

Cancelled due to trail conditions

Nesika Lodge will be open the weekend of February 25-26 for hike in visitors only. The Adventurous Young Mazamas will be our guests. All TCO members are welcome. Bring your own food and remember we do not have inside water, flush toilets or showers this time of year.
