Week-1

Mar 1 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week we will be doing the 4T hike. Please meet at the MAX station at the Oregon Zoo, ready to depart at 9:30 AM. Meet at the side of the MAX station across from the Western Forestry Center. At the end of the hike, we will be taking public transportation, so please bring a MAX ticket or exact change so you can buy a ticket. There is a fee for parking in the zoo parking lot.

Mar 4 (Sat) Tolinda Ridge Trail Loop Hike – class B

Bet those buns ready for hiking season, 6 miles 1700ft elevation gain. http://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Tolinda-Ridge_Trail_Loop_Hike Always carry the 10 essentials with you and be prepared for inclement weather.
Meet: 8:45 AM at Forest Park Tolinda Ridge Trailhead (off Germantown rd) We leave promptly at 9 AM

Week-2

Mar 8 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week’s hike will be at Powell Butte Nature Park, 16160 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR 97236. You can get to the park by going south on SE 162nd from Powell Blvd. The parking lot is at the top of the hill. Please meet ready to depart at 9:30 AM.

Mar 10-12 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Open

Tyee Lodge will be open from 4 PM Friday, March 10th to approximately 2 PM Sunday, March 12th. Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast will be served. Bring food for lunches and Friday dinner/Saturday breakfast if you will be there. Cost is $10/night for members, $15/night nonmembers, food for the 2 meals is $10.

Mar 15 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week we will hike to Council Crest park. Please meet at the intersection of SW Spring and SW 18th, ready to depart at 9:30 AM. There are no restrooms at the beginning of the hike, and none until more than halfway through. There are restrooms at the bottom of the hill at Vista and Burnside.

Mar 17-19 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Open

Tyee will be open Friday 5:00 PM to Sunday 2:00 PM The snow is deep this year, great for sledding, x-country skiing and snowshoeing. I'll lead a short snowshoe Sat about 2 hours if interested. I have one spare pair to loan.

Mar 22 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week we begin our hike at Sellwood Riverfront Park, SE Oaks Park Way, Portland, OR 97202. This is the park down by the river near Oaks Amusement Park. Please be ready to depart at 9:30 AM.

Mar 24 - 26 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Open

Join us for a fun weekend in the snow at Tyee Lodge which will qualify you for Trails Club of Oregon membership. Wear your brightest snow gear and we will provide everything else to make you GLOW during a night snowshoe and black light dancing back at the lodge.
Tyee will be open by 4 PM Friday and remain open until noon Sunday. Breakfast Sat/Sun and dinner Saturday night provided.

Week-5

Mar 28-30 (Tue-Thu) Tyee Open

Come spend spring break up on the mountain! We will spend a few low-key days skiing at the resorts or snowshoeing around the lodge. I am available to keep the lodge open 3/28 - 3/30 (if you have availability to open 3/27 or keep lodge open through 3/31 please get in touch). The lodge will be open for arrivals Tuesday before 10 AM and after 3 PM. Departure will be on Thursday around 2 PM.
Breakfast and dinner will be simple but hearty (if you're interested in cooking please get in touch with me). All standard lodge and meal fees apply.

Mar 29 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park. We then have lunch at a nearby cafe.
This week’s hike starts at Friendly House, NW 26th and NW Thurman. Please be ready to depart at 9:30 AM. We will hike to the Oregon Historical Society downtown. You may visit (free for Multnomah County residents, $9 for seniors) or hike back without visiting. Round trip about 4.2 miles.

I will be keeping Tyee open in the gap between Spring Break and the weekend. Host only, so bring your own food or plan to hike down to Govy. No registration needed.
