Oct 4 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 AM and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park.

Oct 4 (Wed) Evening Hike – Class B

We will hike from 6 PM until 8 PM-ish in Forest Park and the West Hills. Please carry a flashlight or headlamp and dress for changeable weather. Parking is limited; arrive early to find a spot, sign and pay the hike fee.
Cost: $1 for Trails Club and Mazama members; $2 non-members.
Meet: at Wallace Park between NW 25th and 26th on Raleigh. We leave at 6 PM sharp!
Class A: Approximately 4-5 miles with less than 500 foot elevation gain.

Oct 6-8 (Fri-Mon) Nesika Restoration Weekend - Tyee Lodge

As many of you know, our property at Nesika has been damaged by the Eagle creek fire. This weekend is for folks to meet and discuss the state of the lodge, collect ideas for restoration, and collect information from those that want to help us with the task of restoration.
Tyee Lodge will be open from noon Friday through Sunday Lunch. Lodging and meals will be free for this special weekend.

Oct 8 (Sun) Mirror Lake Hike

Join us for a hike up to the beautiful mirror lake with an option to continue to the top of Tom Dick & Harry. Mirror lake is approximately 4 miles round trip, TD&H is approximately 6 miles round trip.
Meet: 8:00 AM at the Mirror Lake trailhead (off of HW26), getting an early start will hopefully help us beat the crowds.

Oct 11 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park.
This hike will be in Oregon City through parks and neighborhoods.
Meet and park at Clackamette Park, Main St. and Clackamette Dr., just west of 99E.

Oct 13-15 (Fri-Sun) Tyee Work Weekend

Please join us for the last Tyee work trip of the year. The lodge will open by 3:30 PM Friday Oct. 13th. We will have two cords of wood to stack in the basement and will burn the slash pile if weather permits. We will apply cedar siding to the front porch and begin the winterizing process to carry us through to spring. There are no lodge fees for overnight and food will be furnished beginning with lunch on Saturday. Oct 18 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park.
This week’s hike starts at the Kennedy School, 5736 NE 33rd Ave, Portland, OR 97211. Please meet at the front of the school and arrive ready to depart at 9:30 AM. There should be ample parking on neighborhood streets surrounding the school.

Oct 21 (Sat) Pioneer Bridle Trail - Class A Cancelled

Please join me for a bit of Oregon history on this lovely 5 mile one-way, downhill hike with a side trip to Zig Zag falls. This is a beautiful hike in the fall. Boots and poles are recommended. Please bring a lunch.
Please join us afterwards for Octoberfest dinner at Tyee Lodge. Must sign up with Lori Leach by Wed the 19th for dinner and lodge stay (see below).
Meet: 10:30 AM at the ZigZag ranger station to car shuttle to trailheads located on Hwy 26.

Oct 21-22 (Sat-Sun) Tyee Hike and Dine Octoberfest Celebration Cancelled

Don your lederhosen and join us for an authentic Bavarian dinner at our beautiful mountain chalet, including fondue, rouladen, spaetzle, green beans, sauerkraut, green and potato salads, and more. Breakfast will be provided on Sunday morning. Lodge fees $15 overnight for members, $25 for guests, or $3 day use fee. Dinner $12 and breakfast $5. Lodge will be open by noon Saturday.

This week we will hike to Council Crest. Meet at SW Spring and SW 18th, down the street from Ainsworth school.
