Week-1

Oct 4 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We begin our hike at 9:30 am and hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, somewhere in the Portland metropolitan area, often in Forest Park.

Oct 4 (Wed) Evening Hike – Class B

We will hike from 6 PM until 8 PM-ish in Forest Park and the West Hills. Please carry a flashlight or headlamp and dress for changeable weather. Parking is limited; arrive early to find a spot, sign and pay the hike fee.
Cost: $1 for Trails Club and Mazama members; $2 non-members.
Meet: at Wallace Park between NW 25th and 26th on Raleigh. We leave at 6 PM sharp!
Class A: Approximately 4-5 miles with less than 500 foot elevation gain.
Leader: TBD
Class B: Approximately 6 miles with 500 - 800 foot elevation gain (not cumulative).

Oct 7-8 (Sat-Sun) Nesika Open - Mushroom weekend

Join us for a fun and educational weekend of hiking, mushrooms, and fellowship. Leah Bendlin, an avid Portland-based mushrooming expert and board member of the Oregon Mycological Society, will teach us the basics of mushrooms, with field trips, a presentation, discussions, and recipe sampling.
On Saturday morning we will start at Multnomah Lodge and trek 4 miles up to the Trails Club of Oregon's Nesika Lodge. We will stay overnight at Nesika Lodge and start the hike back to Multnomah Lodge after lunch on Sunday. Nesika will be open by 10 AM Saturday and remain open until 2 PM Sunday. Lunch/Dinner Saturday and Breakfast Sunday will be provided with leftovers for Lunch on Sunday.
Cost for the weekend is $45 for paid Trails Club members and $55 for guests. This includes overnight lodging, 4 meals, and mushrooming activities.
Meet: at 8:30 AM - Multnomah Falls Lodge by the gift shop .
