SUMMARY:Broken Top Loop Backpack
DESCRIPTION:This will be a three-day, two-night exploratory backpacking adventure circumnavigating Broken Top in the Three Sisters Wilderness. Hiking approximately 7 miles/day, we will start at the Tam MacArthur Rim TH and follow the Park Meadow Tie Trail #4102 and the Park Meadow Trail #96A to our first night’s camp at Golden Lake. Day 2 will follow the Green Lakes Trail #17 past the beautiful Green Lakes area to the Broken Top Trail #10 and a camp at Crater Creek. Day 3 will involve some rougher cross-country travel on “user” trails up to No-Name Lake and Broken Hand, where we’ll pick up the Tam MacArthur Rim Trail #4078 and follow that back to the TH.\nTotal elevation gain will be 3670′, with a high point of 8o10′ near Broken Hand. This will be a TCO adventure for experienced backpackers only, considered Class C due to elevation and some rugged terrain.
