SUMMARY:Forest Park hike after work
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday (7/8/26) after work hike Forest Park.\nMeet at Upper Saltzman & Firelane 5 Trailhead at 5:30 PM. Located at NW Skyline/Upper Saltzman Road.\n45.56239543013806, -122.78343626466403\nThere is a very small edge of road parking area provides access to pedestrian and bike use.\nHike Plan:\nThe route I have in mind is approximately 7 miles round trip, following the Wildwood Trail and looping back via Leif Erikson Drive. Total elevation gain is about 562 feet.\nI typically hike at a snail-like pace of about 2 mph. Feel free to hike faster, slower, or somewhere in between.\nA friendly disclaimer: We may not all finish the hike at the same time, and that’s perfectly fine. This is a casual, do-your-own-thing adventure. You’re welcome to stick with the group, forge ahead, linger behind, or break off entirely.\nNo one will be taking attendance, conducting head counts, or tracking your whereabouts. Once we’re on the trail, you’re officially responsible for yourself. (Exception: If you carpooled with someone, they may have a vested interest in knowing where you are before they drive home without you. 😄)\nThe goal is simple: get outside, enjoy the trail, and have fun!\nhttps://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Upper_Salzman_Road_Trailhead\nAlso, this is a training hike for the 30+ mile August 29th Wildwood Trail TCO hike.\nYou do not need a NW Forest Pass to park at the trailhead.\nFriendly dogs are welcome. There is a port-a-potty at the trailhead.\nThis is a Trails Club of Oregon event which is free to everyone, whether or not you are a TCO member.\nDisclaimer: Keep in mind that you are responsible for your own health and safety during the hike and on the way to and from the trailhead. Be informed and plan to be self-sufficient. Practice no trace, bring 10 essentials, and research trail conditions.\n
