Smith Rock State Park, Misery Ridge and River Loop

Relaxed pace 3.5 to 4 mile loop. 948 elevation gain. Elevation gain occurs within the first 0.8 miles. Once we go over and down from the ridge we’ll be following the trail along the Crooked River. We’ll take time to savor the views and take photos. Misery Ridge is rated hard due to the steep ascent and descent with no shortage of loose scree, especially on descent. We will take 2.5-3 hours, depending upon group pace.
Must bring water and food PLUS the remaining 10 essentials. You must wear sturdy shoes or you will not be allowed on this event. Hiking poles are strongly recommended. Dress in layers. We’ll have a snack at the top and lunch on return for those who wish to stay.
$5 State Park fee, PLUS
Additional Fee:
$2 for non dues paying members of Trails Club of Oregon
