Tax-deductible Donation

Challenge Grant from a Lifelong TCO Member

I am a second-generation member of the Trails Club of Oregon, and I would like to give something back to an organization that has given so much to me. Now that the Club has obtained its 501(c)(3) status, the time is perfect.

I am offering to match member donations dollar for dollar, up to $5,000. If member donations reach $5,000, I will contribute an additional $1,000 bonus—bringing the total raised for the Club to $11,000.

I quite literally grew up in the Club. As a member of the Baby Boomer generation, I participated in Club activities throughout my childhood, long before I was eligible to become a Junior Member. Those years created memories that have stayed with me for a lifetime.
I remember Easter egg hunts, Christmas tree outings, gathering mistletoe, summer potluck dinners in city parks, and, of course, spending time at both Nesika and Tyee. I also remember hiking, exploring sections of the Pacific Crest Trail, mountain-climbing adventures, ski trips, and countless weekends enjoying the Pacific Northwest with fellow members.

As a Kiddie Kamper, I was fortunate to grow up in an environment where a dozen parents looked out not only for their own children, but for all of us. The Club provided friendship, adventure, mentorship, and a sense of community that is increasingly rare today.

As I look back, I realize how much those experiences helped shape the person I became. The guidance, encouragement, and example provided by the Club’s senior members had a lasting influence on my life. The older I get, the more I appreciate all that the Trails Club has given me over the years.

I recognize that times are tight for many members and that not everyone can make a large donation. But if many of us participate, even modest contributions can make a meaningful difference.

I hope you will join me in supporting the future of the Trails Club of Oregon. I look forward to watching our progress and seeing the monthly results posted on the Club’s website.

Thank you for helping preserve and strengthen a Club that has meant so much to so many of us. My hope is that future generations of members will enjoy the same opportunities, friendships, and lifelong memories that the Club provided to me.

Together, we can help ensure that Nesika, Tyee, and the traditions we cherish remain strong for generations to come.
