How To

Your current access is:

To add an event to the web site and Blazer calendar.

It is no longer necessary to send events to the Blazer, unless you want something different in the Blazer.
The editor will see all events on the web site. The Blazer deadline of the 15th of each month, however, still applies.

  1. Events should not be posted on Facebook (except to promote the event).
    Facebook is not searchable by schedule. Use Facebook for photos and comments.
  2. Check the calendar first to make sure it is not already on the TrailsClub.org web site.
  3. If you intend to post the event on Meetup, post it on Meetup.
    It will NOT automatically post on the TrailsClub.org web site.
  4. Post the event on the TrailsClub.org web site: login to your account, and use the TCO MEMBER -> Add New Event page.
    If you have at least Author status, use the TCO MEMBER -> Add or Edit Event page.
  5. The event will be published immediately if you have Author status, otherwise the event is reviewed before showing on the web site.
  6. It is your responsibility to ensure the event appears on the calendar.

To edit your existing event. (It is your responsibility to keep your events current.)

  1. If the event is on Meetup, edit it on Meetup, then edit the TrailsClub.org event.
  2. To edit the event on TrailsClub.org, you must have at least Author status.
  3. If you don’t have at least Author status, request access on the TCO MEMBER -> Access Request page.
  4. If you have Author status go to the TCO MEMBER -> Add or Edit Event page.
  5. Click on Go back to events list.
  6. Click on the event title of the event you want to edit.
  7. After modifications, click on SUBMIT EVENT at the bottom.

To add a post or trip report.

(Posts are for general information, like the conservation notes, or lodge status updates, or trip reports.)

  1. Login with your account on TrailsClub.org
  2.  Use the TCO MEMBER -> Add New Post page.
  3. The post will be reviewed before showing on the web site.

To edit your existing post.

  1. Login with your account on TrailsClub.org
  2. You must have at least Author status.
  3. If you don’t have at least Author status, request access on the TCO MEMBER -> Access Request page.
  4. When viewing the Post, click on the “Edit” icon at the bottom of the page and edit the Post.
  5. Then click on the Update button on the right in the Publish box.

Both Events and Posts can feature a photograph.
