Deschutes Back pack: 26 miles. Macks Canyon to mouth of Deschutes Class C

We will hire a shuttle driver to move our cars from Mack’s Canyon to Mouth of Descutes. Cost per car is around $125.
we will hike from Mack’s canyon day 1 around 6 miles to a nice field and camp. No restrooms night one. Day one is hard. we climb in and out of 7 old railroad culverts. Day 2 we will hike down to 8 mile camp. There is a great hike to ridge top from here. also, restroom. Day three you can hike on trail along river or on old railroad road. The Spring season can be cold, bring warm sleeping clothes, gloves, hat, etc. Dogs per leader approval. Sights: eagles, mountain sheep, occasional bear, raccoon. A bit too cold for rattle snakes. I like to spray clothes and gear with Sawyer insect repellent to ward off ticks. It is hard to have camp fires as wind picks up and forest service wants us to use fire pan. keep packs under 30 pounds. there is water along way but carry 1.5 liters. you will need 3 lunches, 2 dinners and 2 breakfast.
