Nesika Overnight

Enjoy one of the gorges’ best hikes, then spend the night at one of the gorges’ best lodges. We will meet at the Multnomah Lodge on Route 30 Saturday morning at 9 AM, and return the following Sunday after spending the night at Nesika Lodge.

The trail up to the lodge from Multnomah Falls is moderate-difficult, roughly 4 hours in good conditions. Warm clothes and micro spikes are necessary, snow shoes are strongly recommended for the unpredictable conditions. DO NOT LEAVE VALUBLES IN THE CAR IF PARKING OVERNIGHT.

Food: Cooking facilities include electric, gas, microwave and wood-fired stoves. Cookware and silverware is available at the lodge, as well as coffee, tea and seasonings.

Sleep: Cots are available in the wood stove-heated dorm, bring a sleeping bag. Floor space is available in the lodge. Dorm or lodge spaces are $18 for adult members, $30 for adult guests. No charge for day hikers.

Other amenities: A generator provides electricity for the lodge. A DVD player and games are available for entertainment. Potable cooking and drinking water is available, though flush toilets and showers are not during the winter. Cell reception is possible with most carriers. There are no garbage facilities in the winter, please expect to pack it out if you pack it in.
