Surprise Lake Backpack

This will be an exploratory trip for experienced baclpackers into the less frequently visited east side of the Goat Rocks Wilderness. On Day 1 we will hike into Surprise Lake (6.7 miles, 1200′ gain) and set up a basecamp. Day 2 will be spent exploring Warm Lake and its surrounding high meadows, with a return to basecamp for the night. Day 3 hike out and return home.

We will gather in the Washougal Safeway parking lot (3307 Evergreen Way, Bldg 5, Washougal WA) at 8:30am on Tuesday 9/24, and drive to the TH from there.
