Day Hike: Mother’s Day hiking tour of the Bridal Veil Plateau

Greetings –

PLEASE read the entire listing to know what you would be getting yourself into this Mother’s Day.

PLEASE feel free to ask questions.
It will rain on Sunday. Be prepared for rain/mud.

DISTANCE: 8-10 miles (more or less)
ELEVATION GAIN: approx 1200 ft over the entire trip
CREEK CROSSINGS: yes – Bridal Veil Creek
TERRAIN: could be brushy, muddy & wet at times, for short sections
DOGS: please ask first
MEETUP point: Larch Mtn road snowgate at mile 10, 830am sharp
DIFFICULTY: moderate
PASS REQUIRED: no

Starting from the Larch Mtn snowgate at mile 10, I plan to take a stroll towards Devil’s Rest on the access road, then head off to examine a number of artifacts on the Bridal Veil plateau.
– Bullet car(s), pictured
– Hidden cabin
– Assorted relics and exotic items
– and more!

We will do our best to stay to trails, user paths and game trails. We shall take the safest route(s), but there could be brushy/muddy/wet short sections.
We will need to cross Bridal Veil Creek. Your feet may get wet.

Please bring a change of socks and your rain gear.
Gaiters are helpful.
Hat, walking sticks and gloves are also helpful.
Bring food for lunch.
Bring water.

I will bring my male pup – he is very friendly. Please let me know if you plan to bring a dog.

Please plan on this being a full day hike.
My hope is that folks will find this a fun Mother’s Day adventure for all the right reasons. We will take a short rest/food break every hour.

This is a Trails Club of Oregon event and is free to dues paying members. Non members have a $2 per day fee.
Priority will be given to dues paying TCO members.
